Nope not my apartment. And not my car. Well actually I do need to clean the car. But right now what needs a little spring cleaning is my body.
I started out this semester strong with exercising and eating well, and it's all gone down hill since then. I've started religiously drinking soda and coffee again and towards spring break found myself making lots of bad food choices because I just felt like it was time to give up.
After going to New Orleans for Mardi Gras (post to come soon on that trip!), and eating our way through the city it's time to get my act together. I think I ate my weight in beignets, beans & rice, fried seafood and sugary slushy drinks. Even here in Columbia I can't seem to get my hands off of soda, cupcakes and anything else that has no nutritional value.
I'm heading to bed early after a long weekend and break so I can wake up early and work out. And then hopefully put something decent in my body. I need a good cleanse, and hopefully giving up fried food and soda for Lent will help. I'm also going to start trying to eat less meat. Need to strive for those high numbers of fruits & veggies everyday, let's see how this goes.
I've really been neglecting the blog, but life has been crazy and I'll get back to that later when I also share my Mardi Gras tales. I hope everyone is having a great March so far and if you had, are currently on, or still waiting for spring break, I hope you enjoy it wherever you are!
